Long-time supporter of all things sidecar and classic racing in general, Dave Gristwood is offering an outfit to anyone who would like to start classic sidecar racing.
Dave is always pretty easy to find in the paddock, as he drives a full-size articulated lorry to every meeting and happily provides all mannerof assistance to anyone needing help. As well asan oxyacetylene welding kit, the lorry even has a full-size lathe.
The outfit he’s offering is complete except for an engine. It’s currently configured for an Imp power unit, but with a little engineering skill, there’s no reason why any power unit couldn’t be fitted.
The deal is that Dave is prepared to loan it to someone for as long as they like, as long as they race it with the CRMC
Obviously, the new owner would be responsible for the running and upkeep of the machine.
As well as this, Dave is also offering £250 for the best turned-out ‘back from the dead’ outfit.
