Ferry Brouwer is best known for his long involvement with Yamaha, especially with the factory’s competition aspirations, culminating with the now-disbanded Yamaha Classic Racing Team.

Yet before that, Ferry had his own road-race aspirations.
His father, Cees, also a racer, had saved hard to support his son, but Ferry was soon aware that he did not have the right temperament and withdrew gracefully.
